Plant Asparagus Family-Asparagaceae

Genus of about 300 species of evergreen and deciduous perennials, climbers, and subshrubs from sandy and coastal sites in Europe, Asia and Africa. Asparagus Ferns are grown for their foliage. But they are not ferns, and the 'leaves' are really needle-like branches.Asparagus is an easy plant to grow - grow it as trailer in hanging baskets.
Average warmth - minimum 50F at night.Semi-shade or bright light. Keep well away from direct sunlight. Grow in soil-based potting mix.
Water sparingly in winter. For the rest of the year water thoroughly. Misting is necessary. Never use a coarse spray.
Divide plants at any time of the year. Sow seed at 61 F (16 C) in autumn or spring.
